Hans Hölzel
“I’m only immortal when I’m dead!” – The homage to the greatest genius in German-speaking pop and rap history is centered around these gloomy, foreboding words. Consequently, the musical biography begins with the car accident in the Dominican Republic in 1998. The allegorical figures “Jeanny” and “Ana Conda” mark the inner conflict of the exceptional musical talent between the arrogant, egomaniacal world star and the vulnerable, brooding Hans Hölzel. The two-hour live experience leads through formative stations in the life of the distinctive musician. Visually stunning and eccentric, the musical biography provides a deep insight into the thoughts and feelings of the artist and the person behind the dazzling pop icon through artistic projections and original video sequences. A person who enjoyed life to the fullest and went through many ups and downs – up to the point of self-destruction.
The greatest hits
All the big hits and also some unjustly forgotten titles of the “Falcon” are brought back live on stage and breathed new life through shrill and extravagant dance numbers. The selection of songs ranges from early successes such as “Ganz Wien” and “Der Kommissar” to big hits such as “Vienna Calling”, “Jeanny” and “Out of the Dark” to impressive titles such as “Emotional” and today’s brand new one Song “Europe”. Of course, the world hit “Rock Me Amadeus” should not be missing – the only German-language song in music history to date that reached the top of the US Billboard Charts and marked a turning point in the artist’s life.
Previous companions
“Up until now I only knew Falco from the radio.” – Falco’s former bandleader Thomas Rabitsch, as musical director, and Falco’s former manager and friend Horst Bork, as advisers, are on hand to ensure the authentic implementation of the musical. As expected, the musical homage to the artist Falco attracted old fans, experienced music connoisseurs and enthusiasts, who were enthusiastic. “It’s impressive how much Falco is able to move and excite people to this day,” emphasizes Alexander Kerbst. Together with Stefan Wessel he embodies Falco in the show and wrote the script for the musical with Stefanie Kock. “But what impressed me the most was how many young people come onto the show. Young people who were born after Falco’s death and only know him from the radio. The young fans come with Falco pictures they have painted themselves, have old LPs signed and sing along to the lesser-known songs without any problems. For me one thing is certain: if an artist also reaches the children and grandchildren of his fans at the time with his music, then he is really immortal,” says Kerbst.
Success concept musical biographies
The German producer and organizer COFO Entertainment has already shown other musical biographies as a tour organizer such as “ELVIS – Das Musical”, “all you need is love! – The Beatles Musical!” and “Simply The Best – The Tina Turner Story” have a good sense of the audience’s taste. In addition to “FALCO – Das Musical”, COFO Entertainment has filled concert halls in German-speaking countries in recent years with other in-house productions about world stars such as Michael Jackson (“BEAT IT!”) or Frank Sinatra (“That’s Life”).
