Definition and endowment
The Congress Award Graz honours organisers from the fields of science, research and business as well as the NPO sector who have rendered outstanding services as ambassadors for the city of Graz by holding conferences and congresses in Graz at local, national and international level.
The positioning of the city of Graz as a business, research and science location is closely linked to the lively congress and conference activity and the Congress Award Graz expresses the appreciation of the city of Graz for organisers who have rendered outstanding services to Graz from various perspectives.
The initiators of the Congress Award Graz are the City of Graz and the companies Messe Congress Graz and Graz Tourismus und Stadtmarketing GmbH. The award is endowed on the basis of a resolution passed by the Graz City Council.

The Congress Award is presented in the following categories:

The Congress Award is endowed with € 2,500 per award winner.
The Congress Awards Graz are presented by invitation at a festive gala in the Congress Graz or the Messecongress Graz. Information on the award winners can be found here.
Submission & Application
The application process is straightforward and involves submitting the relevant documents.
All organisers of congresses and conferences held in the year preceding the award ceremony are eligible to participate, provided the application documents are submitted by the closing date.
Selection procedure & jury
A high-calibre jury, consisting of five to seven members, meets annually to select the winners of the previous year. With the involvement of representatives from the four universities in Graz as well as other educational and research institutions, the jury works actively to nominate the best events in various categories.
